We may be in the throes of a VERY hot summer, but the wine does not stop. I mean, we do have a/c after all. And given its elevations and the fact that it’s a wine growing region with lower humidity, the evenings tend to be fairly nice in the Texas Hill Country. So pack a picnic and head on out to Texas Wine Country. As always, they have a lot going on. And yes, there’s some yoga involved…

Texas Wine Collective Ice Cream and Wine Pairing

Texas Wine Collective always has the most fun pairing events. July is here and nothing says summer like ice cream. So of course, these fun wine peeps are pairing ice cream and wine together. How could two of these favorite things possibly go that well together? You gotta show up to find out. Ice cream is being scooped Saturday, July 15th during multiple sessions: 11:00, 1:00, 2:30 and 4:00pm in their Boardroom.

Advance Reservations are required $45 per person Click here to book!

Yoga & Wine with Vino Vinyasa

Vino Vinyasa, which combines wine education and yoga classes is headed out to Fall Creek Vineyards in Driftwood. Recently, I finally got to say namaste and join one of these classes and so enjoyed.

It was great to actually work for my wine. The class weaves fun wine facts into yoga flows and concludes with a wine tasting. Tickets are $30 and you’re bound to experience some tasty wine. Sunday, July 9th at Fall Creek Vineyards

Texas Wine Collective Taste of Texas Wine Series: Texas vs Spain

Another good one from the folks at TWC. I love these comparative wine events that they do. This time, they will put three of their Texas wines up against three Spanish wines. I’m thinking there may be some Tempranillo swirled in some glasses. The wines will be paired with Spanish bites. The event takes place Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 with 2 sessions at 12:30pm and 2:30pm. Advanced Tickets Required $55 – Wine Club Members Tickets $50 Click here for tickets.

Becker Vineyards Reserve Library Tasting

One of my favorite tastings ever at Becker Vineyards was their Library Tasting in their beautiful underground barrel cellar. To be sure, Becker is a busy place and short of going when they first open, I always find myself fighting for room. For me, this is the way to enjoy and see what they are all about. Guests begin their experience with a behind the scenes tour of our wine production area that culminates with an exotic and delectable wine and cheese pairing in a fabulous setting. The next iteration is Saturday, July 22 at noon. Tickets are $75 per person.

Siboney Cellars Domino Day & Pig Roast

I come from a trash-talking, domino-playing family, so I love this monthly event from Siboney Cellars. The Domino Day and Pig Roast is just what it sounds like and is such a fun time! It takes place on the third Sunday of each month and features a domino tournament, live music, a pig roast, cigars, Cuban coffee, and yes – wine! One of the owners, Miguel Lecuona, is Cuban and he brings much of his background to the winery.

The July event is Sunday, July 23 at 11:30am and tickets are $40 per person.

As always, even if you don’t go to any of the specific events, head on out and enjoy a glass or two while listening to live music. I’ve been amazed at all of the great music everyone has.

And if you’re planning ahead, next month will be full of harvest events, which are always tons of fun. Included in the harvest fun is Messina Hof Winery’s Annual Harvest Festival that will take place at both its estate and Hill Country locations. Tickets are already on sale for some events. I keep saying I’m going to get out and actually work one of these harvests! See y’all in August!
