Whoo! Your girl is tired! After a week in Anguilla (Happy Anniversary to Mr. Corkscrew) followed by a week in Portugal (after being home for a mere 24 hours) followed by all the Thanksgiving stuff, including a road trip to Austin and all the Christmas decorating, I’ve hardly had time to catch my breath. Oh and lawyer life is straight crazy with the Inflation Reduction Act and trying to get my arms around all the clean energy provisions which fall squarely within my area of responsibility. So yes, I’m late with my December Texas wine roundup and there were so many great events the first weekend of December that I missed. But better late than never! And if I can get all the lawyering done, I hope to get out there for a couple of days myself this month. If you’ve never been, do know that wine country is magical during the holidays. So even if you don’t go for any of the special events, it’s great to just visit the tasting rooms and cozy up to a fire pit or two. So what’s going on?

Its crazy that I didn’t even know about the Johnson City, Texas, Lights Spectacular. With over a million lights, the city has been dubbed the twinkliest town in the Hill Country. So bright is the display that NASA reported seeing it from the International Space Station! How cool is that?!

The display is centered around downtown Johnson City by the historic Blanco County courthouse. And what a great way to visit some of the local tasting rooms in town (hello Farmhouse, Pebble Rock, Crownson and more!) which I literally just wrote about in my “Johnson City Centric View of the Hill Country” article. The display goes through January 8 and fingers crossed I can steal away for a couple of days with the kiddos.
